Welcome to the Avery Perfect Fit Method

Thank you for taking a moment to learn how to measure your true physical inseam.

This quick video will show you how to properly measure the length of your leg so you can confidently choose the right inseam when shopping Avery Denim.

Understanding your physical inseam makes finding the perfect fit much easier.

How to Measure Your Physical Inseam

To measure correctly, you will need a soft measuring tape and a flat surface.

  1. Stand up straight with your feet about 6 inches apart.
  2. Make sure you are not wearing shoes.
  3. Place the end of the measuring tape at the top of your inner thigh (the crotch seam).
  4. Measure straight down along the inside of your leg to the floor.

This number is your true physical inseam.

Why Your Physical Inseam Matters

Your physical inseam is the actual length of your leg, and it never changes.

Once you know this measurement, it becomes much easier to determine which inseam length will work best for you when choosing jeans.

However, the inseam you choose for your jeans may vary depending on:

  • the style of jean (skinny, straight, trouser, etc.)
  • the look you want (cropped, ankle, full length)
  • the type of shoes you plan to wear

For example:

A skinny jean may look best slightly shorter at the ankle, while a trouser style may need extra length to work with heels or boots.
